Baohuang · 168 cards · Rules

Five players; four decks without 3/4/5, with marked Emperor and Guard jokers.

The marked big-joker holder accepts Emperor or passes that card upstream. The marked small-joker holder chooses public or hidden protection; holding both marks means solo Emperor. Play equal-rank sets with optional hanging jokers. Replies need the same count and higher ordinary cards AND higher hanging jokers; no straights, airplanes or cross-count bombs. Emperor and Guard oppose three civilians; an entire team must go out. A solo Emperor wins by going out first; public solo loses when one civilian finishes, hidden solo when two finish. No regional extra kick/challenge rules. JJ finish-place scoring is used: Emperor first/Guard second scores +6/+3 and civilians −3 each; public protection doubles it. Imperial places 1/5 or 2/4 draw. Hidden solo Emperor second also draws. Solo Emperor first scores +12 hidden or +24 public, with equal opposite shares for the four civilians.
